What happens to my employees?

Everyone gets an offer at their current pay or better, and we put that in the purchase agreement rather than just saying it out loud. Your team, your dispatcher, and your office manager are most of what we're actually buying. Cutting them would destroy the thing we paid for.

Do you keep the company name?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You spent years getting your name on trucks and in customers' phones, and that reputation is worth real money. We're not repainting anything or putting our name on your work.

Do I have to leave right away?

Accepted Answer

That's entirely your call. Ninety days, a year, or forever. Some owners want a clean break at closing, some want ninety days to hand off relationships, and some stay on for years on a schedule that suits them. We want to understand your goals and timeline early so we can plan accordingly.

Are you going to load the company up with debt?

Accepted Answer

No. Depending on the situation, we might not have any debt. If we do, it will be a normal bank loan, the kind any buyer would need, and at a level the business can support. We're the ones who have to live with the payments, so a structure that only works if everything goes right isn't attractive to us either.

How is this different from selling to a competitor?

Accepted Answer

A competitor is usually buying your customer list and your territory. Their people already do what your people do, which is why overlapping roles tend to get cut and the name usually disappears. We have no existing operation to fold you into, so we need your team and your name to keep working.

Do I need a broker or an attorney?

Accepted Answer

You don't need a broker to talk to us or to get a real offer. If you already have one, we'll work with them. You absolutely should have your own attorney and accountant review anything before you sign, and we'll wait for that.

What if I'm not ready to sell for a few years?

Then it's still worth a conversation now. Knowing you and your business ahead of time makes for a faster, calmer process when you're ready, and there's no cost or obligation in the meantime. Some of the best conversations we have start two or three years before anything happens.

How do I know you can actually close?

Accepted Answer

We'll show you our funding and introduce you to our bank. Anyone can make an offer. You should be asking every buyer to prove they can fund it before you spend months on diligence.
